[quote]According to the report, Kirk was met with protesters shouting "F--k you, fascist!" and holding signs saying things like, “Facists [sic] f--k off!” “Charlie Kirk has a small face,” “Trans rights = human rights,” and “Charlie K. is a p--s baby.”
That wouldn't have happened had Kari Lake been governor.

Because she’d have shut down the universities so they couldn’t pollute young minds with knowledge.

How is (rather juvenile and trite) name-calling destroying Kirk? Seems like it's an everyday occurrence over the past few years.

Why are these rethug pricks so goddamn fugly?
Their hate eating them up from the inside? This guy has that ugly, gummy Gary Busey grin, a giant head with a tiny face and an unruly chipmunk on his head.
He’s as repulsive on the outside as his idiotic “ideas”.

They always focus on the trans thing - it's not an accident that this is the motivating issue for young progressives today (the special interests of less than 1% of the population) rather than income inequality, wage stagnation, labor rights, public services and infrastructure, the issues that are making the lives of half if not more of the country a pure hell.

R5 100 years ago in the South, state and local governments were dealing with wage stagnation, public services, and infrastructure among other things, what government is supposed to do. They were also the enforcement agencies of horrific racism, discrimination, and segregation. It was immoral. And it took risk-takers (who were a small percent of the population) to focus on civil rights, which was a progressive and a motivating issue for a vulnerable and persecuted community. Along with providing basic services, we need our government, our leaders to have moral imperative to adhere to the principles of the Constitution.
Bigots complained about blacks fighting for their rights, gays fighting for their rights, women fighting for their rights, people with HIV fighting for access to life-saving meds, and now trans folks fighting for their right to exist.
What side do you appear to be on?

R6 I'm in favor of trans rights but I also think Dems help protect the interests of private wealth by focusing on identity politics in unproductive and ways in which relate to aesthetics/consumerism - progressive IdPol is about policing the minutia of interpersonal humor and rhetoric, celebrity tweets and gossip, and fashion/media consumption - rather than galvanizing local voters against a problematic judge or reregulating zoning laws and the actual technical nature of the assault on marginalized people they are directed into a vicarious playacting reflection of the same issues that doesn't go anywhere for them and puts money in the pockets of major corporations who are liable for much of the horror we experience in the first place - this same tactic has been used since the antiwar movement of the 1960s and it's become more and more and more and more effective over time. It isn't my perception that trans rights are irrelevant and that the transphobic platform of the right wing should not be opposed but I do think that the left wing is being intentionally directed toward less effective forms of political action and also undermined in its ability to form coalitions across groups with different priorities.

R6 Trans have always had the right to exist. Please stop repeating the Dylan Mulvaney talking points.

He looks like he has some type of birth defect. All that's missing is the black bar across his eyes to "protect" his identity.

Shit, if Dems protect private wealth they’re Repugs.

I believe in trans right. Nobody should deny them their true selves. However, don't like Trans freeloading off the Gay/Lesbian/Bi politic. This is a separate issue. Get your own platform.
Thuglicans: the world is composed largely of people not like you. Other types of humans exist. Get over it.
I think we need to walk a mile in someone else's shoes. Having said that I find it hard to step into a Neo-Nazi's shoes. That is one of my weaknesses.
