Cleavon Little - he was gay, right?

I thought he was hot in Blazing Saddles. He won a Tony Award and died of "colorectal cancer" in 1992.

He was married for 2 years in the early to mid-70s according to Wikipedia.

Played a flaming queen in Once Bitten with Jim Carey and Lauren Hutton, guilty pleasure viewing.

I saw him on Broadway in PURLIE - he was an absolute doll. I don't know if Cleavon was gay but he certainly had sex appeal to spare. What a loss that he died so soon.

He dated a friend’s wife for awhile before they married. Which of course doesn’t mean anything on DL.

Gay or not, he was sexy and funny. A total winning combination.

He was a revelation in buckskin with his leather shirt opened deep down his chest.

He died quite young. It was the AIDS, wasn't it?

And he got it because of the homosex?

We had a radio host in Philadelphia who had no problem saying that Cleavon was bisexual and possibly died from AIDS. The guy talked about movies all day long. Mr. Movies IIRC.

He was funny on the tv show "Temperature's Rising", though that show had like 2 or 3 different revisions and cast changes. I forget if he was on all of them.

I have a friend who was his classmate at the New York Academy of Dramatic Arts way back in the 1960s. Said he was a really genuine guy and very talented. Still gets sad when he thinks about him passing away so young.

Such a talented man and a real loss.

I worked with Cleavon on a Broadway Play called ALL OVER TOWN many years ago. He was a gregarious, fun guy and a real team player. I never got a gay vibe from him but he was definitely gay-friendly.

Still waiting for him to whip it out.
