And the bride will keep kosher. Whether for warmth since the evening was nippy or for decorum to cover bare arms and shoulders in keeping with respectful tradition, ladies received shawls upon arrival.

For the clear-sided, see-through reception and ceremony tents, Donald brought in chandeliers from his golf club in DC. It was smack in the middle of the course so you could see the beautiful trees and changing leaves. The planning was expedient. At 3, family picture taking before guests arrived, ceremony at 4, cocktails 5:30, dinner 7:30. Long narrow all-white tables. was allowed her own personal 14 guests, which included assistant , Palm Beach caretaker , p.r. person and furrier . For most invitees, it was more than an eight-hour gig. They left home 2:30-ish, arrived back after midnight, and even then it meant splitting before the cake came out. Gifts for guests included a book in Hebrew and a pair of small white flip-flops with the tag: “Ivanka and Jared — what a pair.”
Bridesmaids such as , wife of Ivanka’s brother , and half-sister , daughter of daddy Donald’s 10-minute union with , wore dusty lavender. Mothers of the bride and groom both wore peach. , Donald’s wife, did low-cut strapless purple satin. Her mother, one-shouldered black. Black, which the older generation never wore to weddings, was everywhere. Donald’s brother , locked in a lifetime divorce from his lifelong wife , brought his live-in girlfriend. She, too, in black.
The orchestra played “Hava Nagila.” Donald and Melania’s adorable little was ring bearer and unsure of his duties, so Mommy had to rescue him. Since nobody knows what to buy a couple who has everybody, donations were suggested to three Jewish charities. And it was lots of impersonal gifts like albums.
During the ceremony, the bride kept trying to take the groom’s hand. The Africa honeymoon follows Wednesday’s private reception for their nearest and dearest friends, relatives and tenants — 1,000 people at the Puck Building. And even then friends may still be discussing the wedding invitations they’d received. It had a flier inside for Donald’s other golf properties.
And long life and good health and many children and a blessing on their heads, mazel tov, mazel tov . . . and may commercial property go back up in New York.
AFTER Sunday afternoon’s standing ovation for “A Steady Rain,” and fund- raised onstage for “Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.” Instead of the usual collection, they auctioned the shirts off their backs. Each brought $4,000, which both signed in the dressing room in the presence of the donors. Hugh also announced the performance was historic: “First time we’ve done this whole show without a cellphone going off.”
Before the curtain ushers repeatedly marched up and down like monitors checking each row for cellphones. They all but rapped the knuckles of anyone disobedient. Another thing. Hawkers went up and down aisles selling bottles of water . . . like the circus.

SATURDAY. Stage Deli lunch. Since I had a head cold and wasn’t eating, my “ Sandwich” — corned beef, pastrami, Swiss cheese, rye bread — was packed to take home for my housekeeper. A friend hired a town car for our rainy day matinee — the superior play “Superior Donuts” at the Music Box. Afterward, same driver but a different vehicle. In the interim his limo service had switched black cars. And with it went my “Cindy Adams Sandwich.” So who got it? Who knows. And it had extra pickles, too.
