HELP! Searching for an old thread

I don't have great luck with the search feature, but I'd like to find an old thread and I'm hoping somebody can help.

I believe the thread was posted about five years ago. The OP was a young gay man from an abusive and impoverished background on and was looking for advice on how to better himself and gain confidence. He struggled with low self esteem but he knew why and really wanted to take steps to overcome it. He was kind, smart, hard working, courageous and just a sweetheart. It was a very popular thread full of great advice, encouragement, and praise. Sound familiar? How can I find and access it? I know a young gay who reminds me a lot of the OP and I'd like to share it with him.

Lotsa luck with that. Several days ago regarding the guy videoing and blackmailing his hookups I tried to find one from just a year ago about the tranny Atlanta federal prison guard with his own hidden video cam.

Things disappear here like 1930s Russia.

Asking the people here is probably the best bet OP but you can also try Google.

Just start your search terms with "datalounge" There will be LOTS of results but at least you can sift thru them for a bit and see if you get lucky. Also remember to change up the search terms to get different results if your results seem off track.

Well, then, it couldn't have been on DataLounge. You must be thinking of a thread on some other forum.

R4 is right - Google search work MUCH better to find anything on Datalounge than the Datalounge search itself

Use the Google Advanced Search and put in the site or domain field, and you can specify exact phrases, exclude words, even select a time period, so if you can recall a specific phrase used in that thread you can search for it

Hi OP I remember that thread and have often thought about how the guy is doing.

I have found the thread but don’t know how to post a link. If you Google…datalounge how to break a loser family cycle, the thread will come up.

R10 here. I just read that you have found the thread, I haven’t been able to post for a few days, but anyway at least you have found it.

I’m piggybacking on this thread.... there was a thread posted of a teen or maybe 20 yr old who was depressed. Then I think he was going to transition, but then decided not too. He might have dressed female even. He was cute and it was sad watching his video because he was so confused. I wanted to see if there was an update, but I remember so little about it and DL knocks threads off watchlists quickly. It was posted around 2 years ago max.
