What a great character actor who died way too soon. A staple of 1990's cinema.

He has been in some great and diverse films- Hannah & Her Sisters, Good Morning Vietnam, Dad, Misery, The Russia House, Backdraft, A Few Good Men, Hoffa, Needful Things, The Client, Miracle on 34th Street, Outbreak, Nixon, Sling Blade, The Negotiator, and Pleasantville.

Didn't he do America's Most Wanted?

I always confused him with John Heard.

He was great in everything! I cannot think of a bad performance he gave.

I get his name mixed up with M. Emmet Walsh's name. WTF is up with those initials?

One of those actors who you instantly recognize but dont know their names. He was great in whatever he appeared in.

I liked when he played John Ehrlichman in Nixon. He and James Woods as Haldeman walked and talked like the real thing.

He had a great run. I remember him most as the evil truck driver in Breakdown with Kurt Russell. I didn’t realize he died right after that was released

Don't forget "Crazy People"! His best line, "your lunatics are looking a little crappy this morning."

He was great in The Grifters.

A really good actor who stood out in everything he did . He was really good in The Grifters. Thanks for making me remember him OP . R1 thinks they are funny but they are not.
