SPRINGDALE, Conn. – John L. "Jack" Gallagher, of the Springdale neighborhood in Stamford, died Tuesday, Jan. 26. He was 61.
Born on Dec. 30, 1954, in Hartford, he was the son of Ralph F. and Joan MacEntee Gallagher.
He was a credit analyst at PerkinElmer and also assisted part-time at Springdale Florist. He was a member and past president of the Glenbrook Athletic Club and was an avid horse racing fan who also enjoyed golf.
He is survived by his stepmother, Marguerite Gallagher of Sarasota, Fla.; his sister Kathleen and her husband, James Jones, of Norwalk; three brothers, Joseph Gallagher and his wife, Rosemary, of Staten Island, N.Y., Charles Gallagher and his wife, Kathleen, of Fairport, N.Y., and Thomas Gallagher and his wife, Michelle, of Fairport, N.Y.; nieces Kaitlin Jones, Katie Gallagher and Honorah Gallagher; and nephews Timothy, Patrick, Ryan and Neil Gallagher.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Maryann Gallagher.
Family and friends may call Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Ave., Stamford. A prayer service will be held at the funeral home Saturday at 10 a.m., followed by a procession to St. John's Cemetery, Darien, where interment will be held.
