Many women are more afraid of being touched by lesbians than they are of being touched by men? Give me a fucking break. Being born female means being born inherently vulnerable to bodily harm and exploitation of a sexual nature by a certain segment of the population, and I'll give you a hint--it ain't lesbians.

And the thought of a lesbian going into a profession that requires over a decade of intense study for predatory motives is just absurd. A woman wouldn't get her rocks off by handling the genitalia of a bunch of female strangers in a clinical setting, even if she were lesbian. That's not how women are wired, sorry. They realize this, which is why they just don't regard each other with the same amount of wariness/caution that they do around men.

Most likely R97's old bitch of a mother is just uncomfortable with seeing women in high-ranking professions. See it all the time amongst women of a certain generation (how many older women will flat-out state that they would never vote for a female presidential candidate, no matter what her qualifications?).

And the other genius at R145 saying that childbirth isn't a medical event, but a "life event." Are the two mutually exclusive for some reason? If someone gets cancer, receives treatment, and survives is that not a "life event?" Or do you mean "life event" as in it's a normal, unavoidable part of life... Still, how does that exclude it from also being medical? Death is an unavoidable part of life, and is considered a medical event.

Great idea, let's do away with giving birth in hospitals with doctors present and just do it at home with midwives. Like in the Victorian era, where the maternity death rate was so high that young women wrote their wills as soon as they found out they were pregnant.
