Michael Connolly Obituary, Death – It is with a heavy heart that we announce the peaceful passing of Michael Connolly on Christmas Eve, 2023, at St Luke’s Hospice Rathgar, Dublin. A resident of 15 St Patrick’s Avenue, Carlow, Michael’s journey came to a serene close surrounded by love. Michael, a beloved brother to Marie and Helen, leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and cherished memories. He will be profoundly missed by his sisters, brothers-in-law Tom Dormer and Gerry O’Sullivan, nephews Jason and Stephen, nieces Deirdre, Sinead, and Lisa, as well as his grand-nephews, grand-nieces, and a host of relatives and friends.

Reposing at his home on 15 St Patrick’s Avenue (Eircode R93 Y4C6) from 4 pm on Tuesday (St Stephen’s Day), the day will conclude with prayers at 7 pm, offering an opportunity for friends and loved ones to pay their respects. On Wednesday, a final farewell will commence with the removal at 10:30 am to The Holy Family Church, Askea, where a Funeral Mass will be held at 11 am. Following the Mass, Michael will find his eternal rest in St Mary’s Cemetery, Carlow.

The Connolly family kindly requests family flowers only, with the suggestion that, if desired, donations be made to Cancer Research. This heartfelt gesture reflects Michael’s enduring spirit and his family’s commitment to supporting the ongoing efforts in the fight against cancer. As we say our goodbyes, let us remember Michael Connolly for the love he shared, the kindness he bestowed upon others, and the lasting impact he made on the lives of those who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace, surrounded by the love of family and friends, and may his memory endure as a source of comfort and inspiration.
