It re-adds the Item Bundle feature to most Main Stages 12–580, as well as Expert Stages 4–48. This feature was available until October 24, 2017.

On October 17, 2017, it adds the Marowak (Alola Form) Great Challenge. It also adds the repeat runs of the Pikachu (Shiny Gyarados Costume), Bellossom, Ho-Oh and Sableye (Spooky) Great Challenges, Kingdra Special Challenge, Pokémon Safari #12, and The Daily Pokémon (#1).

1.4.27 October 24, 2017 It adds the Dhelmise Great Challenge and Hoopa (Unbound) Special Challenge. It also adds the repeat runs of the Mega Banette Competitive Stage, Latias Escalation Battle, Mimikyu Great Challenge, The Daily Pokémon (#2), and Gengar (Spooky) A Great Chance a Day.

Additionally, all players are given a Gengar Gengar (Shiny).

To commemorate Halloween, the title screen has been changed to feature Mimikyu in place of Pikachu among the 4 icons that appear before the game's title. Additionally, the Pokémon icons that fall afterwards are selected from a limited pool of  Ghost -type and Spooky Pokémon instead of the usual Pokémon that appear. This Halloween-themed pool includes Pikachu (Spooky), Gastly, Haunter, Gengar (Spooky), Drifloon, Sableye (Spooky), Pumpkaboo (Spooky), Gourgeist (Spooky), Litwick, Lampent, Chandelure, and Mimikyu. However, the 3DS home menu launch screen remains unchanged.

It also re-adds the "Mega Start 0 Coin Festival" for Main Stages 1 to 210, with the exception of Stage 149. This festival was available until November 7, 2017.

On October 31, 2017, it adds the Palossand Great Challenge and the Xurkitree UB Challenge. It also adds the repeat runs of the Litten Great Challenge, Drifblim High-Speed Challenge, and The Daily Pokémon (#3).

On November 1, 2017, a new month of the Celebration Challenge begins, with Pikachu Pikachu (Celebration: Mushroom Harvest) as one of the rewards.

1.4.28 November 7, 2017 It adds the Ditto Special Challenge.
