This would have been unthinkable just 5 years ago.

No respectable gay person gives a fuck about rap. Leave it to the over earnest, sexist, foul mouthed thugs.

He's tweeted pictures of his boyfriend and talks about him. It was mentioned on a forum, caused a brief discussion then they all went back to talking about his next album. It really wasn't felt to be that big a deal.

There have been other gay rappers. What about the one who did the 'Throw that Boy Pussy' song.

That's rap ? I listened to some of the 'Echoes' video ..........sounded like a normal song to me.

In six-degrees-of-separation news, his best friend is also friends (and quite flirty) with Nolan Gould.

Elton John came out as bisexual in the 1970s.

Sure, r9, but I'm specifically talking about hip hop here.

What R1 said. Rappas = homophobes = scum of the Earth.

Who is Nolan Gould? One of your soap stars?

r13
Well, obviously this one isn't it. And the fact that he seems on his way to become a star in the genre without his unapologetic bisexuality being an issue indicates that attitudes are changing. So why be so negative?
r14
He's on "Modern Family", and has been the subject of extensive discussion on DL (actually I was going to call him a "DL fave").

(this one isn't it = this one isn't)

I think I actually read about him on here actually. Did he have body dysmorphia or a plastic surgery obsession?
| by Anonymous | reply 17 | April 17, 2016 2:01 AM |
No, that's another actor from the show, Reid Ewing, who came out as gay last year. Nolan isn't out yet, but DL consensus seems to be that he's gay as well.

Black people want a prize for everything.
| by Anonymous | reply 19 | April 17, 2016 2:06 AM |
That's unfair, r19. He's not making a big deal about being openly bi - he's just very matter-of-fact about it. I'm the one who thinks it's laudable, and I'm not black.

If you read his interview, he sounds like very obnoxious Jaden Smith. Why do these rappers say they're bisexual when they're obviously gay?
| by Anonymous | reply 21 | April 17, 2016 2:14 AM |
Very obnoxious. And of course he's dating a white twink.
| by Anonymous | reply 22 | April 17, 2016 2:17 AM |
Maybe he really is bi, r20. But even if he's gay - considering that there are countless middle-aged multimillionaires who parade around with beards, do we really need to criticize a penniless teenager trying to make it in a notoriously homophobic genre who posts about loving his boyfriend on social media for not going all the way?
| by Anonymous | reply 23 | April 17, 2016 2:20 AM |
I must have skipped over the part of the interview where he made any statement on his sexuality.
| by Anonymous | reply 25 | April 17, 2016 2:34 AM |
If he's openly "bisexual" with a white boyfriend he's about as up-and-coming in the rap community as I am.

It's a new day.

His music is shit and I doubt he'll get far unless he goes the Macklemore route and produces his own albums. It's awesome that he's bi, but he comes across as a hipster who's struggling with his race more than his sexuality.
| by Anonymous | reply 28 | April 17, 2016 9:19 AM |
I'm a hip hop fan and his music is awful.
And yeah 'bisexual' but only hangs around corny white LA twinks? Embarassing.
| by Anonymous | reply 29 | April 17, 2016 12:01 PM |
R1, I am so glad that so many bisexual and gay men live lives totally different and free of your archaic, stifling stereotypical confines. I am so glad that they are free to not only enjoy hip hop, but produce it. You need to get out and see the diversity among bi/gay people beyond your prissy stereotypes
