After meeting on the set of Step Up in 2006, Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan were both fresh out of relationships. While the actress-dancer later told Ellen DeGeneres that she gave Tatum room to play the field, she was ready to go all-in with their relationship. After a night of hard-partying (that involved a ton of tequila), the Magic Mike star returned to Dewan's hotel room and was ready to make things official. And they lived happily ever after ... or not.
According to People, they tied the knot in Malibu, Calif. in 2009, before welcoming their daughter, Everly, four years later. By all outward appearances, their relationship was as perfect as could be. However, The Blast reports that Dewan filed for divorce six months after the couple announced they'd separated in April 2018. "There are no secrets nor salacious events at the root of our decision," the amicable exes released in a joint Twitter statement. "Just two best-friends realizing it's time to take some space and help each other live the most joyous, fulfilled lives as possible."
Almost nine years of marriage down the drain. So, what went wrong? Apparently, Tatum had moved out of their family home several months prior to their split announcement. According to a source cited by People, "Like any marriage, they've had their ups and downs over the years but they really started to grow apart within the last year."
